1901-S Liberty Head $5, Half Eagle, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC at AU58.  1901-S is the most common date/mintmark of the 1839-1908 Liberty Head series.  This is an unusually brilliant specimen, which has lustre better than half of uncirculated coins, meaning just a bit of miniscule wear must have dropped this from choice or gem BU to its official grade.  This coin is for the savvy collector who wants a good one without paying -64/-65/-66 prices.  Even so…the price just rose a bit to match national price trends, and now it qualifies for free shipping!
